Chekeré

 
 

The Chekeré is a percussion instrument that comes from Africa and Cuba which , like the maracas and the güiro is manufactured starting from a variety of marrow, a dried and worked water-bottle.

 
 

The instrument is also present in the Mandingue music from West Africa, where it is also called sometimes Djabara.
